Job Description:
As a Project Manager at Exoben, you will play a critical role in overseeing the development and integration of various engineering aspects into our production processes. You will lead cross-functional teams to ensure that large-scale projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability. This role involves managing multiple stakeholders, aligning project goals with company objectives, and ensuring seamless coordination across engineering, operations, and management teams. Your technical expertise, combined with your project management acumen, will be essential in driving successful outcomes for Exoben’s large-scale industrial initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Execution: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale industrial projects, ensuring that all project phases are completed on time and within budget.
- Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, process, and environmental engineers, to ensure smooth collaboration and integration of all technical aspects into the project workflow.
- Timeline & Budget Management: Develop detailed project timelines and budgets, track progress against project milestones, and ensure that project resources are used efficiently to meet financial and time constraints.
- Engineering Integration: Oversee the integration of various engineering disciplines into production processes, ensuring that equipment design, systems integration, and operational workflows align with the overall project objectives.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, and contractors. Ensure clear and timely communication of project updates, changes, and requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring that potential delays, budget overruns, or engineering challenges are addressed proactively to keep the project on track.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure that all engineering designs, systems, and processes meet industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Resource Allocation: Allocate project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, ensuring that the project team has the necessary tools and support to meet deadlines and deliverables.
- Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Address and resolve engineering and operational challenges that arise during the project lifecycle, implementing corrective actions to keep the project on course.
- Project Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical reports, budget tracking, progress reports, and change orders. Present regular updates to senior management and external stakeholders.
- Contract Management: Oversee contractor selection, negotiation, and management, ensuring that all external partners adhere to project specifications and timelines.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across project management practices and engineering workflows, identifying ways to streamline processes and enhance project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, or related discipline). A Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration (MBA) is a plus.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in project management, specifically managing large-scale industrial projects in the energy, mining, manufacturing, or chemical processing sectors.
- Project Management Certification: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent project management qualifications are preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Strong technical understanding of engineering principles, with hands-on experience in managing projects involving complex industrial systems, including mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering components.
- Budgeting & Financial Management: Proven experience in managing project budgets, tracking financial performance, and ensuring that project costs remain within the allocated budget.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex technical and operational challenges, implement effective solutions, and keep projects on track.
- Risk Management: Expertise in identifying and mitigating project risks, ensuring that potential delays or issues are resolved proactively.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in project management software tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar platforms, as well as engineering design tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred qualifications
- Advanced Degree: Master’s in Engineering or an MBA with a focus on project management.
- Industry Expertise: Extensive experience in managing large-scale projects in the energy, mining, or resource extraction industries, particularly in lithium or sodium production or renewable energy sectors.
- Lean & Six Sigma Certification: Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process optimization and continuous improvement in project delivery.
- Sustainability Focus: A strong commitment to sustainability, with experience in integrating eco-friendly practices into industrial project management.
