Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Process Engineer to join our engineering team. As a Process Engineer at Exoben, your role will involve streamlining and optimizing the extraction processes for lithium and sodium, ensuring maximum efficiency and scalability. You will focus on minimizing waste and energy consumption while improving overall industrial processes. This position is critical to Exoben’s mission of advancing sustainable resource extraction and refining operations, helping us to meet global energy demands while minimizing environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Optimization: Analyze, design, and optimize the industrial processes used for lithium and sodium extraction to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
  • Scaling Up Operations: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to scale lab-scale extraction processes to full industrial-scale production, ensuring processes are scalable and sustainable.
  • Energy Efficiency: Implement strategies and technologies to reduce energy consumption during extraction and processing, improving overall process sustainability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvements by conducting regular audits and assessments, and implementing corrective actions to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Waste Reduction: Develop and implement methods to minimize waste generation and optimize resource utilization throughout the extraction and refining processes.
  • Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with chemical engineers, mechanical engineers, and environmental specialists to ensure process improvements are integrated across all departments and operations.
  • Technology Integration: Integrate new technologies into the existing extraction processes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions to production.
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret process data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and potential improvements, providing recommendations for process enhancements.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of processes, improvements, and results, ensuring compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations.
  • Project Management: Oversee the implementation of process improvements, manage timelines, budgets, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in process engineering, particularly within mining, extraction, chemical processing, or similar industries.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of process design, optimization, and scaling in industrial environments.
  • Process Improvement Skills: Experience in identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements in production or manufacturing environments.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools and process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, MATLAB) to assess and improve process performance.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with environmental regulations, safety protocols, and industry standards related to chemical processing and extraction.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in Process Engineering or a related field.
  • Industry Experience: Significant experience in the lithium or sodium extraction industry, or a similar energy or chemical processing sector.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification: Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
  • Sustainability Focus: A commitment to implementing sustainable practices and reducing environmental impact within industrial processes.
