Job Description:

We are seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead Exoben’s technology strategy across its core sectors: advanced battery technology, lithium extraction, and EV charging infrastructure. As CTO, you will be responsible for setting the technological direction of the company, overseeing research and development (R&D), and ensuring the successful commercialization of cutting-edge solutions. Your role will involve working closely with senior leadership, engineering teams, and external partners to foster innovation, streamline operations, and accelerate growth across all Exoben sectors.

This is a senior leadership role requiring deep expertise in technology development, strong business acumen, and experience in managing multidisciplinary teams in the energy and technology industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  •  Define and lead the overall technology strategy for Exoben across its battery, lithium extraction, and EV infrastructure sectors. Ensure that technology initiatives are aligned with business objectives and support the company’s vision for sustainable energy solutions.
  • Oversee and direct all R&D activities within the company. Collaborate with engineering and scientific teams to drive innovation in battery technology (e.g., lithium-ion and sodium-ion), lithium extraction methods (e.g., direct lithium extraction), and EV charging infrastructure development.
  •  Develop and manage the product and technology roadmap, ensuring that Exoben remains competitive in its core markets. Anticipate industry trends, customer needs, and regulatory changes to guide the evolution of Exoben’s product portfolio.
  • Foster collaboration across Exoben’s sectors—battery, lithium extraction, and EV infrastructure—to leverage synergies in technology development. Drive integrated solutions that combine advanced battery storage with sustainable lithium extraction processes and scalable EV charging networks.
  • Drive innovation across all technological platforms, from lab-scale research to full-scale production. Ensure that Exoben maintains a strong intellectual property (IP) portfolio by identifying and protecting new technologies and processes that offer a competitive advantage.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers, scientists, and technologists. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Ensure that teams have the resources and support they need to meet technological and business goals.
  • Oversee the successful commercialization of new technologies, from concept to market-ready products. Work with product managers, marketing teams, and business development to ensure that technological innovations translate into profitable solutions.
  • Build strategic relationships with universities, research institutions, technology providers, and industry partners to accelerate innovation. Ensure that Exoben is continuously evaluating and adopting cutting-edge technologies from both internal development and external partnerships.
  • Ensure that all technology initiatives comply with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards. Promote the development of technologies that reduce environmental impact, improve energy efficiency, and support Exoben’s sustainability goals.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to identify ways to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and streamline production processes across battery manufacturing, lithium extraction, and EV infrastructure projects.
  • Identify potential technological risks, including project delays, technical failures, and market shifts. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to ensure that Exoben’s technology projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends in energy storage, sustainable extraction, and EV infrastructure. Act as a thought leader, representing Exoben at conferences, industry events, and within the broader energy community.
  • Lead efforts to incorporate sustainable practices into all technological developments, ensuring Exoben meets its sustainability targets. Drive innovations in green technologies, focusing on reducing carbon emissions, minimizing resource use, and advancing eco-friendly lithium extraction and energy storage methods.
  • Collaborate with the executive team and board of directors to provide regular updates on technological initiatives, progress against goals, and future opportunities. Ensure that technology initiatives contribute to the long-term strategic vision of the company.
Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Energy Systems, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of leadership experience in technology, R&D, or engineering roles, with a focus on battery technology, lithium extraction, renewable energy, or EV infrastructure. Proven experience leading large, cross-functional teams and managing complex technology projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep expertise in one or more of the following: advanced battery technologies (e.g., lithium-ion, solid-state, sodium-ion), lithium extraction processes (e.g., direct lithium extraction, brine processing), and EV infrastructure (e.g., fast-charging networks, energy management systems).
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of market dynamics, commercialization processes, and the competitive landscape in the energy and technology sectors. Ability to translate technical concepts into business opportunities.
