Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electronics Engineer to join our engineering and integration teams. In this role, you will focus on integrating Exoben’s battery packs into diverse electronic systems, including electric vehicles (EVs) and energy storage systems. You will ensure efficient power management, smooth communication with Battery Management Systems (BMS), and overall compatibility with various applications. Your role will be vital in ensuring that battery systems operate efficiently and reliably while meeting the demands of different operational environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Battery Pack Integration: Design and implement solutions for integrating battery packs into complex electronic systems, including EVs, grid storage, and industrial applications. Ensure compatibility between battery systems and host electronics, optimizing power delivery and system stability.
- Power Management Systems: Develop power management systems that ensure the efficient distribution of energy from the battery to the electronic components. Focus on minimizing power loss, balancing power distribution, and ensuring efficient charging and discharging cycles.
- Communication with Battery Management Systems (BMS): Ensure seamless communication between the battery packs and Battery Management Systems (BMS). Work on protocols for data transfer related to battery health, performance, state of charge (SoC), state of health (SoH), and other key metrics.
- Design & Testing of Electronics Circuits: Design and test electronic circuits that support battery pack functionality, such as voltage regulators, inverters, and protection circuits. Ensure that these circuits meet performance requirements while maintaining safety and reliability.
- Electrical Safety & Protection: Implement safety features such as overvoltage, overcurrent, and thermal protection circuits to safeguard the battery and the electronic systems it powers. Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations for battery-powered electronics.
- Thermal Management for Electronics: Collaborate with thermal engineers to address heat dissipation challenges in battery pack integration. Design cooling systems that keep electronic components within safe operating temperatures during heavy loads or fast charging.
- In-Vehicle Electronics & EV Applications: Focus on the integration of battery packs with automotive electronics for electric vehicles. Ensure efficient power delivery, compatibility with vehicle control systems, and compliance with automotive standards (such as ISO 26262).
- Energy Efficiency Optimization: Continuously analyze and improve the energy efficiency of battery systems when integrated with electronic components. Optimize the conversion of stored energy into usable power with minimal losses.
- Battery Pack Control Algorithms: Develop control algorithms for managing the flow of energy between the battery and the electronic system. Implement algorithms for power optimization, voltage regulation, and system fault detection.
- Testing & Validation: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of integrated battery systems to ensure optimal performance in real-world conditions. Test for efficiency, compatibility, thermal stability, and safety under various operating scenarios.
- System Integration & Troubleshooting: Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for battery integration issues during development and after deployment. Identify and resolve problems related to electrical connections, power flows, or communication protocols.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, thermal engineers, software developers, and system architects to ensure cohesive integration of battery packs into the overall product design. Provide technical expertise on system-level interactions.
- Compliance with Industry Standards: Ensure that all electronics and battery integrations comply with relevant industry standards, including automotive, safety, and environmental regulations. Focus on adhering to standards such as ISO, IEC, and UL guidelines.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Stay updated on the latest advancements in battery integration and power electronics. Apply new technologies, methods, and best practices to enhance the efficiency and reliability of integrated battery systems.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, system integration protocols, and testing reports. Present findings to internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory agencies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field with a strong focus on power electronics and system integration. A Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in electronics engineering, particularly in the integration of battery systems into electronic systems for automotive, energy storage, or industrial applications.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of power electronics, circuit design, and energy management systems. Experience with battery integration in electric vehicles or similar high-power applications is highly desirable.
- Battery System Knowledge: Solid understanding of lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery technologies, battery management systems (BMS), and the impact of battery performance on electronic systems.
- Circuit Design & Testing: Expertise in designing and testing electronic circuits such as voltage regulators, inverters, converters, and protection circuits for battery packs.
- Communication Protocols: Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, SPI, and I2C, particularly for battery and energy management systems.
- Safety & Standards: Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and regulatory requirements for battery-powered systems, including experience with ISO, IEC, and UL standards.
- Simulation & Modeling: Proficiency in using simulation and modeling tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent software for designing and optimizing electronic systems.
- Collaboration & Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to battery integration and power electronics.
- Project Management: Experience managing system integration projects, including coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing timelines, and meeting project milestones.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree: Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering with specialization in power electronics or energy systems.
- Industry Expertise: Extensive experience in battery integration for electric vehicles (EVs) or large-scale energy storage systems. Familiarity with automotive standards such as ISO 26262 is highly preferred.
- Advanced Power Management: Expertise in developing advanced power management systems that optimize battery performance, including energy-efficient designs for automotive and industrial applications.
- Firmware Development: Experience with firmware development for Battery Management Systems (BMS) and power control units is an added advantage.
