Your contributions will be essential in supporting the company’s goal of developing sustainable solutions for large-scale production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Design & Development: Design and develop efficient chemical processes for the extraction and refining of lithium and sodium from various raw materials, including brines and ores.
- Optimization of Extraction Processes: Continuously improve process efficiency to maximize output, minimize energy consumption, and enhance product quality.
- Scale-up to Industrial Production: Collaborate with engineering teams to scale laboratory-developed processes to industrial levels, ensuring scalability, cost-effectiveness, and production readiness.
- Pilot Plant Operations: Oversee and manage the setup and operation of pilot plants to test and refine extraction processes before full-scale production implementation.
- Equipment Selection & Design: Specify and design chemical processing equipment, such as reactors, filters, and crystallizers, that are optimized for large-scale lithium and sodium extraction.
- Process Simulation & Modeling: Use advanced simulation and modeling tools to predict the behavior of chemical processes, optimize performance, and reduce costs.
- Environmental & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all processes meet environmental and safety regulations, focusing on sustainability and minimizing waste and emissions.
- Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with other engineers (mechanical, electrical, process), materials scientists, and production teams to integrate process improvements into overall production workflows.
- Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement: Diagnose issues in existing chemical processes and implement innovative solutions to improve efficiency, yield, and safety.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed technical reports, including process descriptions, safety protocols, and operational guidelines, to support process implementation and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in chemical process design, development, and optimization, preferably in metal extraction, chemical manufacturing, or related industries.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of chemical extraction techniques, particularly for lithium, sodium, or other minerals/metals.
- Process Optimization Skills: Strong understanding of chemical process optimization, including thermodynamics, kinetics, and energy balance.
- Simulation & Modeling Tools: Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, ChemCAD, MATLAB) to design and optimize chemical processes.
- Project Management: Experience in managing or contributing to large-scale industrial projects, from lab scale to full-scale production.
- Environmental & Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with environmental regulations, sustainability practices, and safety standards in chemical engineering.
- Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree: Master’s or PhD in Chemical Engineering or related field.
- Industry Experience: Significant experience in lithium or sodium extraction or chemical manufacturing, with a focus on industrial-scale applications.
- Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma: Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar.
- Sustainability Focus: A strong commitment to sustainability and experience with environmentally friendly chemical processes.
What We Offer:
- Competitive Salary: A market-competitive salary with comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and performance bonuses.
